Objective: To train, coordinate and undertake research and consultancy services on cancer management.
The academic unit has three sections, Nuclear medicine, pathology, Training Research and consultancy. The unit will perform the following activities, to train under and postgraduate students on cancer management, develop research oriented perspective in solving cancer related problems, encountered in clinical and community practices as well as cancer control strategies, oversee continuing cancer education, evaluate research proposals submitted by students and other interested parties, develop teaching curriculum and training program on cancer management, provide consultancy services on cancer management, publish cancer research findings and recommendations, manage library services, conduct, monitor and evaluate cancer programs and to prepare guidelines for harmonization of indicator mechanisms and methodologies for evaluation of cancer programs and their impact.
