OCEAN ROAD CANCER INSTITUTE

According to the Act that established ORCI, the Institute is governed by a Board of Trustees (BOT) which is the highest decision-making organ. The BOT consists of ten (10) non-executive members including the Chairman and one (1) Executive member who is also the Executive Director.

The Chairman is appointed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania while the remaining nine (9) non-executive members are appointed by the Minister responsible for Health and the Executive Director is appointed by the President.

In accordance with the Act that established ORCI and in order to fulfill its oversight responsibilities, the BOT has four (4) Committees each serving a different role from the other. These are;

  • Audit Committee;
  • Finance, Planning and Resources Mobilization Committee;
  • Academic and Research Committee; and
  • Human Resources and Operations Committee.
